Omnissa Appoints Amit Singh as New CEO

Omnissa, the digital workspace platform provider, has named Amit Singh as its new chief executive officer, effective immediately. The appointment puts a technology leader with more than 35 years of industry experience in charge of a company that serves over 15,000 enterprise customers and tens of millions of endpoints. Singh takes over from Shankar Iyer, who recently stepped down from the role to pursue other opportunities.

Singh arrives with a résumé built at some of the biggest names in enterprise technology. Most recently he served as president of Palo Alto Networks, a period in which the company's market value grew fivefold, several new billion-dollar businesses were launched, and it became the world's first cybersecurity company valued at $100 billion. Before that, he spent almost a decade at Google Cloud as co-founder and president, following roughly two decades at Oracle.

Omnissa's board expressed strong confidence in the choice. Angad Singh, co-head of software private equity in North America at KKR and a member of Omnissa's board, said the new CEO has helped build two of the most important enterprise platforms of the past two decades. He added that the company is well positioned as AI agents increasingly take over everyday work and as enterprises look for safe ways to adopt the technology.

Singh himself described the moment as pivotal for both Omnissa and the wider industry. In his view, the shift to agentic AI is changing how work gets done, and the endpoint sits at the center of that change. He predicts that within a year, every laptop and phone in an enterprise network will operate as an agentic endpoint, running multiple AI agents that act with the identity and permissions of the user.

Drawing a parallel with the era when smartphones and personal devices entered the workplace, Singh noted that companies largely extended their existing management platforms instead of building new ones. He sees agents following the same path. According to him, Omnissa already holds the device agent, the credentials, the traffic, the telemetry and the remediation capabilities, and its task now is to extend all of that to AI agents so that CIOs and CISOs can approve them with confidence.

Omnissa's platform spans unified endpoint management, virtual desktops and applications, digital employee experience and endpoint security, and the company has recently added a suite of AI-first tools focused on visibility and control. Singh has said he will focus on delivering products that help customers and partners manage and secure the next era of work, where human employees and AI agents operate side by side on the same devices.

For enterprise IT and security teams, the leadership change is worth watching. Endpoints are becoming a critical security control point as AI tools gain access to corporate data and applications, and a CEO with deep experience in both cloud and cybersecurity brings a relevant perspective to that challenge. Singh's combined background across Oracle, Google Cloud and Palo Alto Networks gives Omnissa a leader who understands how large enterprises buy, deploy and secure technology at scale. How quickly Omnissa turns this vision into products, partnerships and customer adoption will be the key question in the months ahead. For now, the appointment is effective immediately, and the company's 15,000-plus customers will be watching closely.
